Mother. This word has so many meanings. Mother can be loving, caring, comforting, nurturing. Mother can also be strong, passionate, driven, powerful. Mothers can do so many things. They take on everything and do it one-handed with a gentle smile. They love and care for us, tend to our needs and help us learn to spread our wings. They also “rock the world.”
On November 2, 2019, mothers and grandmothers, as well as fathers, grandfathers, and caregivers, will join together with birth and child professionals from all over the region, gathering in Nashville to “Rock the World” as they celebrate, learn, and discuss ways to make a positive impact on the worlds of breastfeeding and parenting for future generations. Hosted by La Leche League of KY-TN with Attachment Parenting International, two nonprofits benefiting local families, this will be a weekend you don’t want to miss!
The Rock the World: Breastfeeding and Parenting Conference includes three outstanding events throughout a weekend of sisterhood and celebration, held at the West End United Methodist Church in Nashville, Tennessee. Beginning on Friday, November 1st, conference registrants will enjoy a pre-conference dessert gathering to discuss sisterhood, featuring author of the “Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood,” Rebecca Wells.
Saturday, the “Rock the World: Breastfeeding and Parenting Conference,” features key-notes from parenting experts La Leche League co-Founder Marian Tompson, parenting authors Dr. William and Martha Sears, and co-Founders of Attachment Parenting International, Barbara Nicholson and Lysa Parker. Speaker presentations and panels throughout the day will cover breastfeeding, parenting, adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and mental health, positive discipline and nonviolent communication, infant sleep, options for a healthy birth, and more.
The Rock the World: Breastfeeding and Parenting Conference provides parents and professionals more than just the opportunity to learn about topics related to breastfeeding and parenting, with children’s activities, Silent Auction, art exhibit, exhibit hall with more than 30 vendors, and a Grand Prize giveaway worth more than $1,000 — there is something for everyone to enjoy!
