I love Christmas lights. I drive around the long way home to see more each day until they are taken down. That is how much I love them. They are so pretty and bring me and my kids so much joy. We always like to visit one of the light shows around the area each year. holiday wonders bowie park christmas lights fairview tnI was thrilled to find out there was going to be a new one not far from where I live. Our family decided that the Holiday Wonders at Bowie Park in Fairview would be the show we drive to this year.

Let’s discuss the technical things you will need to know before you go (updated for 2022!)—

You can buy tickets online at: https://www.elsnashville.com/. The price is $25 for a carload. You can purchase them online, at city hall, or at the gate. There is a discounted ticket of $15 dollars for active or retired military, law enforcement, or first responders. Those have to be bought at the gate and with a valid ID. They are open November 26th- December 10th: Thursday to Sunday 6-10pm and December 15th- December 23rd: Everyday, 6-9pm. I would buy tickets online to save you time. They allow those with tickets to enter through a different lane – this saves you from waiting on others to purchase tickets.

Now the fun part —

It was a fun night with my family. This is a drive-thru display and one thing we really loved is they allow you to go around more than one time, which was nice. We heard different songs each time and each song has different projected images. This is a combination of lights on a string and a projected show – they describe it as an immersive drive-through light, video, laser, and sound show. Just a head’s up that it’s different from some of the others around town. We really liked the dancing elves. They made us laugh. Take your time, stop at each spot, and listen to the whole song. Make sure you park at the Nature Center and go in. The Nature Center has a Santa to visit (bring your own camera or phone), free cookies, and hot chocolate you can grab to enjoy. We did this after our first drive through the lights and then enjoyed the snacks on our second go around. So fun and part of your ticket price.

Overall, it is a cute show. It is smaller than some of the shows that have been around for a while and it is also different with how it is done. But, for 2022, they have doubled the length of the driving track and added more effects, lights, and music. It is perfect for a young family or one just looking for some holiday fun one night. I really liked that it was on the west side of the Nashville area where I live. It was so much closer than the other shows. We took our time, laughed a lot, and just enjoyed the Christmas Spirit.

Holiday Wonders at Bowie Park is located at Bowie Nature Park, 7211 Bowie Lake Rd, Fairview, TN 37062.
