The Steeplechase. Do you go? Have you considered it? I haven’t been in ages. And honestly, didn’t pay any attention to the horse racing when I was there. Ahem. They used to call it the “people waste” for a reason. BUT, I know with the sponsorship of Bank of America and others, they have made a concerted effort to clean it up a lot. Several years ago, they even introduced a Family Fun Zone.

The Family Fun Zone is an alcohol-free area filled with free games and entertainment like face painting, inflatables, and pony rides, all for ages 12 and younger. Perusing their website, I also see they offer a Stick Horse Race for ages 3-10.
I really like seeing the new changes, how they are including the whole family and making it a safer, more family-friendly event. In addition to the Fun Zone, the Steeplechase offers Shopping and Food Trucks to keep you occupied while waiting on the horse racing.
The Steeplechase is always held on the second Saturday in May at its normal location of the Equestrian Center at Percy Warner Park, Nashville, TN.
