Welcome to Nashville and MCM, Pipintn!

I have comcast. It's about $60 for the TV part and $50 for internet. I also live in Brentwood and never have trouble with my Comcast connection. I think a lot of the trouble or lack of it has to do with where you live and how many neighbors are also using the same "pipe". That is the downside of Comcast, that everyone is on the same wire. If you do the AT&T option, it is a dedicated line but it is slower than Comcast. I live in an older neighborhood with 1+ acre lots. The comcast lines just aren't bogged down like in some other areas. I haven't had trouble with them at all. (knock on wood ) As for TV, I don't know anything about the other options. I hear that they tend to go out in a storm a lot but I don't know that for sure.

We have Directv. We like it. We have AT&T DSL for internet. It's not as good.

We chose directv over Comcast. Comcast had all kinds of service problems in our area. No problems with Directv in that respect.m we do not get Uverse in our area, and we don't have a home phone.

Thanks everyone for your replies!

For those of you without cable and just using a DSL line, how do you access 'normal TV' is it just through and aerial on the roof?

Also who do you use for internet, there seems to be loads of options??

A x

For "normal TV" without anything:
If you have an older TV you'll need a digital converter box to get any kind of reception.

If you have a newer TV, with a digital tuner already in it, then, depending on where you are in the terrain you might not need anything else. At our house in West Nashville, we need a small bunny ears type antenna to get clear reception of the basic channels. Right now we have an antenna that we got from a friend in our attic but it really doesn't give us much better reception than when we had an antenna on each TV.

We have DSL for internet. Ours is about $20 a month, and it requires having an AT&T land line.

I used to watch a lot of tv from way back but things turned different when the interest shifted to making the home a better place to live on.

Currently, though they are on season break, my favorite tv show would have to be New Girl. It stars Zooey Deschanel and she is really great with her role.

She is supported by 3 guys who are practically unknown in the TV scene but the chemistry works really well.

We just have over the air tv and DSL on the phone line for internet. Cabel doesn't run in my neighborhood (really!) and we have too many trees to get a clear view of the sky with a dish. We rarely have any issues. However, my in-laws have Direct TV and they lose all tv viewing when it storms and can't even get the local channels to watch the storm reports.
