Do you have your ears pierced? When did you have them pierced? Did you regret it at all?

I'm contemplating piercing my daughters ears-- she is days away from being three.

I was in 5 Th grade. My daughter got hers done when she was 14, but I let her make the decision. My son however just got his pierced he is 18 and I hate it. I didn't say much about it because he is becoming his own person but I did threaten him if he got gages

I was 12 year old back in the day when you used those self piercer. I love the earrings. Then when I 19 my I had my ears pierced a 2nd time, because of my Grandmother story later.

My first dd does not want her ears pierced glad I didn't have it done.My 2nd dd was 10 she was ready to take care of them herself and she has always done a great job of keeping them clean.

I had mine pierced but they've closed up since. I got them done when I was maybe 10 and it was my decision but it turned out that I was allergic to so many metals that it was difficult to find earrings that would work.

My DD got hers done the week before 1st grade, she was 6. It was her decision and loves them. I have to help her take care of them and swap them out for her, but it's not much work. She doesn't want to change them very often.

I do have mine pierced. I rare warnings very rarely. Pretty much only special occasions. My daughters ears are not pierced (5) but I'd probably let her If she asked. She's never asked. I got mine pierced in 4th grade. I just am not really into jewelry in general.

My assumption was that most women have their ears pierced at some point in their life-- either as a child, or as a teen. So I'm not really questioning IF she should have her ears pierced, but WHEN.

I got my first hole when I was about 18 months old. Second hold when I was 16 years old. I am not a jewelry person, but I always wear earrings-- diamond studs in the top, small rings on the bottom. I take them out overnight a few times a year to clean them, but I always put them back in the morning. I would honestly feel naked without them.

My only real concern about having my daughter's pierced LATER (10 or 11) is that she'll be more likely to want to change them-- and I think that makes the risk of infection greater. She IS a girly-girl and I kind of see her wanting different colors or styles to go with different outfits (although I kind of hope she outgrows some of her princess-ness). Anyway, I was thinking that if we did it now (or a year from now), that we could get one really nice pair (with gold or silver posts) and then never change them until she was older-- and by then her holes would be more established and less likely to get infected. Any truth to my theory?!
